We party with the Irish

My Dad was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. I have cousins who live in Ireland. I celebrate my birthday with my twin close to St. Patrick's Day. My girls are now official Irish step dancers. So even though I have work, trials, and a full platter in March, we always have to take time to party with the Irish during Salt Lake City's St. Patrick's Day parade.

We have attended the parade since I was little. I have marched in it several times under the Casey banner or when I was in Girl Scouts. My whole family attends the parade and several friends have joined us over the years. Some years we go to the Siamsia (Irish party), and others we gather at some home for corn beef and cabbage.

This year was a little different. The girls danced in the parade with their Irish step dance school Crawford/Anadaire. They looked so adorable!! Because the "after party" was at my house we left as soon as they were done to clean up the house. Sissy my niece came home with me and Everitt stayed to watch the parade with the rest of the family. We had a nice lunch together and then I got to spend the rest of the day with my twin Heather. I love Heather...I could go on and on! (But will save that for another post.)

Because of the girls dance we also had a new event to celebrate on St. Patrick's Day. We nick named it the St. Patrick's Day frenzy. We spent all day dancing at various elementary schools. Kate was exhausted. Bea, although hair done and wanting to dance, sat on my lap the whole time and coughed in my face. (Yep, she gave me the two week cough and cold.)

We love our heritage and the month of March!
